He specializes in Middle Eastern folklore and mystical dance and has a deep interest in Indian, Indonesian and Flamenco dances. Shahrokh joined the renowned Theatre du Soleil in 1991, where he played lead roles in Ariane Mnouchkine's productions of "Tartuffe" "La ville parjure" and "Les Atrides". In 1997 he established the Nakissa Dance Company and created: "A Persian Night's Dream", "The Route of Orient", "Nostalgia or Ghassedak", "The Seven Pavilion of Love" (Haft Peykar), "Omar Khayam," "Les Danses Mythologiques," "Mani the Bouddha of Light," "Rumi Le brûlé" and coming soon: "Hafez". Meanwhile, he has also been playing in: "Twelfth Night" of Shakespeare directed by Christophe Rauck, "Romeo and Juliette" directed by Lionel Briand, "The Baccantes" of Euripide directed by Usevio Lazaro, "Soldier's Tale" of Strawinsky and "La Diva D'Auschwitz" directed by Antoine Campo, "A Streetcar Named Desire" of Tenesee William directed by Phillip Adrian, "Kidnapping at the Seraglio" of Mozart directed by Jérome Deschamps and Macha Makeïef. He directed "Zohreh va Manouchehr" (Venus and Adonis) of Shakespeare in Persian and "Mardha va Chiz" (Men and the Thing) and "Kafané Siah" (Black Shroud). Since January 2005 he has been an official member of the "Comédie Fançaise" (the house of Molière) playing in: "Le Sicilien" of Lully-Molière directed by Jean-Marie Villégier, "La Maison Des Morts" of Philippe Minyana directed by Robert Cantarella, "Pedro et Le Commandeur" of Felix Lope de Vega, directed by Omar Porras.

Shahrokh Izadkhah Trio plays at the Croatian Cultural Center. The concert was produced by Bamahang Productions, and Shahrokh opened with four amazing Jazz song, three of which was artist adaptations of Iranian pop folk music. I attended the concert for Paivand Media Group with my good friend Aloyd assisting me with cameras. Shot with three cameras I really enjoyed editing the piece, mostly because I got to hear the song again and again. I hope you all enjoy. More on www.baabakye.com
